Pragati International Scientific Research Foundation (PISRF)
The Pragati International Scientific Research Foundation (PISRF), headquartered in Meerut, India, is a distinguished scientific organization established as a Trust under ‘The Indian Trusts Act of 1882’. The foundation is dedicated for advancing research awareness and development in agriculture to augment food, nutrition, and livelihood security for farmers. It is a pivotal scientific platform for convening conferences, workshops, and seminars on diverse subjects such as farm mechanization, climate change, sustainable agriculture, horticulture, post-harvest management, value addition, and empowering socially disadvantaged women through entrepreneurship. PISRF has organized impactful international conferences, such as the “1st International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture Production for Food, Nutrition, and Livelihood Security: A Challenge for Asian Farmers”, held in Pattaya, Thailand, from September 25-28, 2019. This event attracted over 250 participants from around the world. Building on this success, the foundation hosted the “2nd International Conference on Prospects and Challenges of Environment and Biological Sciences in Food Production System for Livelihood Security of Farmers (ICFPLS-2023)” from September 18-20, 2023, at ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India, with a similarly impressive attendance. In addition to its role in organizing conferences, PISRF actively contributes to the welfare of farmers through continuous efforts and publishes the biannual Hindi magazine, “Pragatisheel Kheti” providing a valuable medium for disseminating knowledge and insights in the realm of progressive agriculture.
ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA)
ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), located in Bhubaneswar (Odisha), established in 1996, is a pioneering institution emphasizing participatory action research to tailor the farm technologies to suit the needs of the farm women. It is an institution, the first of its kind in India, with a unique mandate for gender research and is dedicated to gender mainstreaming and women empowerment in agriculture to realize enhanced productivity and sustainability of agriculture. The Institute generates and disseminates knowledge to promote gender-sensitive decision-making for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of women in agriculture. Research areas of the institute focus on technology assessment and refinement in gender perspective; management of operational drudgery for farm women; livelihood and nutritional security of farm families; women empowerment and entrepreneurship development, gender-sensitive extension methodologies; creation of a repository of gender-disaggregated data and policy advocacy. The All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Women in Agriculture with 13 centers in 12 states of the country is being coordinated by ICAR-CIWA. This AICRP addresses the region-specific issues related to women in agriculture with a specific focus on livelihood security, household nutrition, reduction of drudgery and occupational health hazards, and capacity building of agrarian families. A center of ‘AICRP on Ergonomics and Safety in Agriculture’ is also functioning at ICAR-CIWA since 2018 with the mandate of application of ergonomic principles and anthropometric data for increasing productivity, reducing drudgery, and minimizing accidents and occupational health problems of workers in agriculture and allied sectors.

About the Conference
Adaptation to climate change and addressing food, nutrition, and gender issues in agricultural systems needs immediate attention at regional, national, and global scales. An integrated farming system has been advocated to meet the diverse nutrient-rich food demands of the ever-increasing population. However, several challenges and institutional bottlenecks exist to achieve sustainable development goals. The International Conference on “Climate-Smart Nutri-Sensitive Integrated Farming System for Gender-equitable Sustainable Agriculture: Prospects and Challenges” provides a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on critical issues shaping the future of agriculture. Delving into ten thematic areas, the conference explores sustainable practices and challenges within Climate-Smart Agriculture, Integrated Nutrient Management, Gender-Inclusive Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Mechanization, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Artificial Intelligence, and Gender Equity. Each theme encompasses specific sub-themes, such as innovative nutrient-sensitive crop integration, gender-responsive extension services, and advanced technologies in artificial intelligence for precision agriculture. The conference aims to foster knowledge exchange, addressing challenges like gender disparities, technological advancements, and sustainable practices. It aspires to generate insights and promote collaborative strategies to enhance the resilience and gender equity of agricultural systems. This academic gathering is poised to contribute valuable perspectives, shaping the trajectory of sustainable agriculture globally.
